People From Bangkok
Temples, floating markets and tuk-tuks. The Bangkok postcard.
On the other hand, the most hidden side of the city.
The starting point is the Klong Toey slum, one of the oldest slums in the country. It is inhabited by about 100,000 people and dates back to the 1950s. It was initially settled by immigrants from the poorest areas who were attracted by the job opportunities of the neighbourhood's riverport.
With the largest wet market, Klong Toey is one of the many slums where citizens live between poverty and crime.
